Sophie Tabor Obituary
Sophie T. Tabor, of Willimantic, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 25, 2023, just a few days shy of her 105th birthday. She was born on April 8, 1918, the daughter of the late Stanley Tabor and Tekla Sikiet from Austria.
She was petite but strong, beautiful and independent. Sophie worked and excelled at CT General Life Insurance Co, for 42 years. She traveled to many amazing places around the world alongside her siblings and sister-in-law, Virginia. She enjoyed sewing, crosswords and gardening as many could tell by the immaculate and perfectly trimmed landscape of her family home. Sophie loved to shop and drive around town running small errands with weekly stops at the local McDonalds to catch a chat with some friends.
Sophie had a strong Catholic faith and was communicant of St Joseph Church in the Corpus Christi Community.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews, but Sophie expressed the greatest gratitude to her great nephew Brian and his wife Laurie, great-great nieces Trisha and Jamie and great-great-great niece Miley that all took care of her in her home until her passing. She is predeceased by her brothers Joseph, Edward and Chester and sisters Anne and Jennie.
A graveside service will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 at 10:00am at St Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
