Solange Johnson, 78, of South Windham, wife of the late Carl L. Johnson, died Friday, September 17, 2010 in Windham. She was born November 10, 1931 in Willimantic, the daughter of Patrick and Alice (Bibeau) Morrissette and had lived in Windham all her life. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at the University of CT. She and Carl enjoyed traveling and hosting family dinners. Solange hosted over 40 consecutive Thanksgiving dinners. She took great joy in the company of her grand niece and grand nephew, Hannah and Thomas Johnson. In addition to Hannah and Tom, she is survived by a sister, Yvette Pier and her husband Roland of New London, nephew Eric Johnson and his wife Suzanne of Pomfret Center, niece Joanne Sailor and her husband James of Willimantic, an aunt, Florence Stankiewicz of Taftville and several cousins. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday September, 20, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
