Silvia W. Greene

Silvia Greene, 97, of Eastford, CT, passed away peacefully on Saturday April 21, 2018. Silvia was born on October 5, 1920 in Rangeley, Maine to James Wilcox and Katherine (Russ) Wilcox. Silvia spent most of her adult life in Connecticut, where she raised three sons. She went from being their Cub Scout leader straight to UConn, where she worked in the Civil Engineering Department from 1960 until her retirement in 1989. During her retirement, Silvia enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad. She also loved growing flowers, feeding hummingbirds and knitting mittens for her grandkids and great-grandkids. Family was incredibly important to Silvia and she will be deeply missed by hers. Silvia is survived by two sons, Scott Greene of Eastford, CT and Schuyler Greene and his wife, Donna, of Stafford, CT; four grandchildren, Kristina Greene of Lebanon, CT, David Greene of Biddeford, Maine, Chandra Campanelli of Stafford, CT and Schuyler (Sky II) and his fianc?, Charlette, of Stafford, CT; four great-grandchildren, Jayden, Taylor, Dorian and Kera; and a sister, Audrey Hodge, of Rangeley, Maine. She was predeceased by her parents; two brothers, Norman and James (Bud); and her youngest son, Sheldon. A private ceremony will be held by the family at a later date. Our family would like to thank the staff at Douglas Manor and Windham Hospital for their compassionate and respectful care of our beloved matriarch.
