Shirley Snel

Shirley Snel, 83, widow of Jacobus "Jack" Snel, passed on to eternal life on Thursday January 31, 2002. She was first and always a loving and devoted wife and mother. She had served as the executive secretary for the president of Rotary International at their headquarters in Evanston, IL for 20 years before retiring. She was wonderfully artistic, and particularly enjoyed drawing pastels of the birds that visited the feeders by her windows. She loved reading the classics and collected stamps from all over the world. Shirley always had at least one cat that she spoiled utterly. She leaves her son, David Boss and his wife Barbara of Illinois, her stepson Jim Snel and his wife Kathy of Illinois, her stepdaughter, Leslie Kennard and her husband Bill of Storrs and several grandchildren. She received exceptional love and care from the staff at Liberty Specialty Care Center. Memorial contributions may be made to the Recreation Department, Liberty Specialty Care Center, 56 Broadway, Colchester, CT 06415.
