Shirley Jean (Potter) Graves, 80, of Storrs, CT passed peacefully on April 11, 2016 at Douglas Manor Nursing Home in Windham, CT. She was born April 27, 1935 in Willimantic, CT to Carlisle and Fannie (Brown) Potter of Columbia, CT. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister, and for 25 years she cared for many elderly men and women as a home health aide with Interim Health Care. Shirley?s heart was to serve her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and for over 40 years she was a faithful member of Christian Life Assembly of God in Willimantic, CT where she served for 25 years as an MPact Girls Club leader (the church?s ministry to young girls). She was dearly loved and will be remembered for her gentle, quiet grace. Shirley is survived by her two sons, Gary Graves of Mansfield Center, CT and Jeffrey Graves and wife Danielle of New London, CT; her 7 granddaughters, Alyonna, Cassidy, Breonna, Sage, Miranda, Annabella, and Gabriella; her beloved sister Ruth (Potter) Affhauser and husband Edward of Columbia, CT; and her brother Philip Potter and wife Nicole of Columbia, CT. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 11:00AM at Christian Life Assembly, 143 Windham Road (Rt. 32), Willimantic, CT.
