Shirley Marie Brodeur, a long-time resident of Lebanon, died February 4, 2015 at Vanderman Place in Willimantic, CT. Born in 1930 in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late William Barlow and Mary Taylor Barlow, Shirley moved to the Worcester area where she married and raised her two children Kathy and Betty. She moved to Lebanon in the early '80s where she followed in her mother's footsteps being curator of the Gov. Jonathan Trumbull Sr. House from 1983-2003. Shirley was a member of the St. Francis of Assisi Ladies Guild, Ladies Auxiliary to the Lebanon Fire Department, and Gov. Jonathan Trumbull Chapter DAR. She was active at the Lebanon Senior Center where she enjoyed bingo and setback. She leaves her daughter Betty Buckley; her brother Bob Barlow and his wife Louise; granddaughters Julie Geissler, Amy Cane and her husband Tony, and Emily Cillo and her husband John; four great-grandchildren RJ, Mikayla, Anthony, and Andrew; one great-great-grandchild Heavenly Rose; and many loving family members and friends. Shirley was predeceased by her daughter Kathy Magaw and her brother Bill Barlow. Donations in her name can be made to the Lebanon Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 51, Lebanon, CT 06249. Potter's Funeral Home will take care of funeral arrangements. There are no calling hours. A memorial service in celebration of her life will be held on April 24, 2015 at 1:00pm at the First Congregational Church of Lebanon, 588 Exeter Rd. Lebanon, CT 06249. A time will be determined later for memorial service.
