Sharon Delgado Obituary
Sharon A. Delgado, 77, of East Hartford, CT passed away on February 8, 2023, peacefully at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Willimantic, CT, the daughter of the late Rowland L. and Lois E. (McCollum) Ely.
Sharon worked in manufacturing for several years but found her passion caring for the elderly and people with special needs. She loved bringing her clients over to the house for cookouts with the family. She was also known for her baking and sought after for her beautiful cake making and decorating skills.
Sharon leaves behind two sons David Ely of North Platte, NE and Mark Golab and his wife Katie of Marionville, MO., two daughters Mona Vigneau and her husband Mike of East Hartford, CT., and Gidget Ducharme and her husband Richard of Sunapee, NH. Sharon also leaves behind two sisters Frances Fluckinger and her husband Mark of Vernon, CT, and Victoria Frazier of Kingman, AZ. A brother James Ely of Willimantic, a sister-in-law Frances Ely of Vernon, CT. Nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was predeceased by her husband Porfirio “Tony” Delgado. Sharon was also predeceased by two brothers Louis Ely of Willimantic, CT., and William Ely of Kingman, AZ and two sisters, Alice Baril of East Hartford, CT and Barbara Sanders of Oakland, CA.
Sharon’s family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. Her funeral service will be at the funeral home on Thursday, February 16, 2023, at 11:00am with her burial following at New Willimantic Cemetery, Willimantic, CT. The family is also asking for donations to St. Judes, https://www.stjude.org or Wounded Warriors, https://support.woundedwarriorproject.org in Sharon’s memory.
