It’s with heavy hearts that we must announce the untimely death of our beloved son, brother, nephew, and uncle Scott James St. Lawrence, age 46. Born July 19, 1980 in Willimantic to Arthur and Joyce (Warren) St. Lawrence, he spent his entire life in Chaplin, CT. He attended Chaplin Elementary School and graduated from Parish Hill High School in 1999. While there, he left a legacy of a beautiful stained glass pirate ship (the school mascot) in the library. After graduating, he worked over 20 years at Studio K Glass Castle in Somers, CT as an amazing stain glass artisan and designer. He also ran a one-man home improvement business for over 10 years. He was always in great demand because of his exceptional craftsmanship. Scott was unbelievably talented. He only had to view something on You Tube and he was able to build or fix it. He did blacksmithing, welding, restored hot rods, fabricating parts when needed, carpentry, fixed cars, and so much more. He was our “MacGyver” and the neighborhood’s helper.

He loved to go fishing and find treasures at flea markets, go to car shows with his father in their 1923 T-Bucket and enjoy a good pizza.

Unfortunately, years of trying to deal with his dyslexia, anxiety and depression were too much to handle. He tried for years to find the right medications and therapy to cope without success. Now he is at peace.

He leaves behind his father and mother, brother Joshua (Amanda), niece Harper, nephew Hunter and aunt Joanne Bowen along with his good friend Ryan Ethier and many England Road and Canada Lane neighbors.

He was predeceased by his grandparents Arthur and Anna St. Lawrence, Donald and Norma Warren and uncle Donald Warren, Jr.

A graveside service will be held September 1, 2026 at 10:30 AM at Gurleyville Cemetery (aka Pink Ravine Cemetery) Bone Mill Rd., Mansfield, CT. 06268.

Donations can be made to the Fin, Fur, and Feather Club for the Kids’ Fishing Derby, which was an event Scott enjoyed with niece and nephew.  The address is: 213 Chewink Rd. Chaplin, CT 06235.
