Saul William Caroline

Saul William Caroline, of Lebanon, CT, age 96, beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at Windham Hospital on Friday, April 15, 2016 after a short illness. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Sylvia. He was born in Montville, CT on June 24, 1919, the son of Edward and Celia Caroline and was educated in the Norwich School System. He retired after many years as a US Department of Agriculture inspector. He previously owned a farm in Columbia, and was a member of the Agudas Achim Synagogue, the Columbia Fire Department and was a former member of the Columbia Lions Club. Saul is survived by his children, daughter Linda Swartz and her husband Carl of Columbia, and son Robert Caroline and his wife Carol of Cochranton, PA; his grandsons, Michael Swartz and sons Zachary and Eli of Memphis, TN, Jonathan Swartz and his wife Marla and sons Cameron, Harrison and Landon of Del Ray Beach, FL, Daniel Swartz and his wife Stacy and daughters Julia and Allison of Cheshire, CT, and his granddaughter Amy Caroline of Pittsburg, PA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and his close friend and companion Mary Hayman of Lebanon.
