Sarah May Briggs, 94, of Storrs, CT passed away on May 9, 2021. She was born in Pine Plains, NY to Frank and Mary (Johnson) Sherman. Sarah is survived by her daughter Mary Briggs; grandchildren Katrina Heyer and her fiancé Michael Clute, Dennis Briggs and his wife Rachel, and Kenny Briggs and his wife Becky; great grandchildren Kentishia, Michaela, Sammantha and her fiancé Aaron Young, Blaze, Blake, Brooke, and Kaylee, Dennis, Jr., and Cody, and Danielle and Kenny, Jr.; and her great-great grandchildren Ryan, Addison, and Colin; as well as her three beloved cats, Sammy, Snow, and Sweetie Pie. She was preceded in death by her husband Clayton W. Briggs; son Clayton M. Briggs; and sister Frances. Sarah’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 14, 2021 from 9:00am to 10:00am at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT 06226. Her funeral service will follow at 10:00am. She will be buried in Hillside Cemetery in Mansfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Mansfield Animal Shelter.
