Sarah J. Harvey, 98, of College Park, Maryland, widow of Samuel H. Harvey, died Friday Dec. 14, 2001 in Adelphi, MD. She was born April 25, 1903 in Alexander City, Alabama, the daughter of Jessie S. and Elizabeth (Scott) Jackson. She grew up there and at the age of 23 moved to the Washington D.C. area where she worked for the U.S. Dept. of the Navy. Mrs. Harvey attended George Washington University and the Washington College of Music. She has resided in College Park, MD since 1932 when she married Samuel H. Harvey, a Willimantic native. She is survived by a son Samuel J. Harvey of Chaplin, 2 grandchildren; Mark J. Harvey and his wife Celina of Galax, VA. and Paula J. Spangler and her husband James of Chase, MD., 4 great grandchildren; Sean and Valerie Harvey of Galax, VA. and Megan and Melissa Spangler of Chase, MD. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Storrs Cemetery, Mansfield.
