Sarah Katherine Caine

Born October 8, 1980, Sarah Caine passed peacefully Tuesday May 7, 2019 surrounded by family at Hartford Hospital. A remarkably charismatic woman, Sarah will be remembered for her stunning smile, sparkling eyes and the ability to light up any room. She touched many with her strength, her courage, and her determination to follow her heart. A lover of live music, Sarah had many fond memories with her Max Creek family particularly at Camp Creek, and she had many beloved friends from around the globe. Sarah graduated from the Summit High School in Seattle, Washington, and from The University of Connecticut with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography and subsequently with a cum laude Bachelor of Sciences in Nursing. She went on to specialize in Medical-Surgical Nursing. Sarah was preceded in death by her beloved husband Joel Milliard. She is survived by her parents, Laura Crow and Dan Caine, her brother Matthew, her sister Ruby, her grandmother Anita Smulowitz, many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hartford Hospital trauma center for their exceptional, compassionate care.
