Sally Alapi, 90, of Ashford, died peacefully on May 10, 2015 as a result of health complications. Sally was born October 5, 1924 in Willimantic, Connecticut, the youngest daughter of five to Edwin Buck and Mabel (Oakes) Buck. Sally served as a Nurses Aid in the Navy during WWII. On May 5, 1947 Sally married the love of her life Jules Alapi. In addition to raising their three children on their family farms in South Windham and Ashford, CT. Sally was a Librarian at Natchaug School in the Windham Public Schools. She was predeceased by her husband Jules; daughter Linda (Alapi) Juras and Son-in-law Michael Juras. Sally is survived by her sons, John Peter Alapi of Ashford, CT; her Granddaughter Lisa (Juras) Girard and her husband James Girard and Great Grandsons Jack Michael Girard of Rockledge, FL; sister-in-law Irma Kuchinsky; along with a number of nieces, nephews, and close friends. There will be a graveside service on May 30, 2015 at 10:00AM at Woodward Cemetery in Ashford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to help fight breast cancer!
