Ruth I. Sabo, 74, of Willimantic, wife of George Sabo Sr., died Wednesday January 1, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. She was born November 19, 1928 in Putnam, the daughter of Arthur and Irene (Chandler) Marquis Sr. and had lived in Willimantic most of her life. She had been employed at the American Thread Co., the Electro-Motive Manufacturing Co. and Semco in Willimantic. In addition to her husband she is survived by 4 children and their spouses, Barbara and Richard Bernier of South Windham, George and Joyce Sabo Jr. of Canterbury, Anthony and Louise Sabo of Hampton, Jonathan and Robyn Sabo of Willimantic, 3 sisters, Helen Spink of Eastford, Julia Bawza of Lisbon, Ada Colburn of Norwich, 5 brothers, Arthur Marquis Jr. of South Windham, Robert Marquis of Hampton, Henry Marquis of Putnam, Anthony Marquis of Willimantic, Lawrence Dolloff of Danielson, 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Westminster Cemetery, Canterbury. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home 1 hour prior to the service.
