Ruth (Mellady) Reynolds, 80, beloved wife for 62 years of Roland Reynolds, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at her home in Coventry. She was born July 29, 1933 in Willimantic, the daughter of the late John and Olivette (Rouette) Mellady. She attended Willimantic schools and later was employed by Electro Motive and then by Rogers Corp. from which she retired in 1998. In addition to her husband she is survived by four daughters and their husbands; Debbie and Joe Farrell of Mansfield, Linda and Peter Peila of Coventry, Sue and John Fritz of Marlborough and Kathy and Grant Bombria of Columbia, eight grandchildren, a great granddaughter and their families who she adored and spoiled, Corey, Lacy, Roland and Kelly, Mandy, Kayla and Kyle, Ashley, Katie and Emma. She is also survived by two sisters and a brother, Carol, Jane and Richard as well as a special sister-in-law/friend, Reta Reynolds who she "loved more" as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers, John, Robert and Raymond. Her family expresses a special thanks for care provided in the past and present by Douglas Manor and VNA East Hospice. Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. A graveside service will be held Saturday January 11th at 1:00 PM in St. Mary Cemetery, Rte. 31, Coventry.
