Ruth I. Mcintosh

Ruth I. (Smith) McIntosh, formerly of Windham, passed peacefully on 05/11/2012 at Buckingham Estates in Glastonbury, CT. Ruth was born on 01/13/1933 to Mabel (White) and Richard Smith in Florenceville, New Brunswick, Canada. She married the love of her life, the late Robert V. McIntosh in 1955. Ruth grew up in New Brunswick, but moved to Connecticut shortly after getting married. Ruth worked at the Electromotive Manufacturing Co. in Willimantic, CT and then as the Credit Manager of Agway Petroleum in North Windham, CT. Ruth was predeceased by her brother Richard Smith and also her four sisters: Jean Parker, Gladys Titus, Marie Clarke, and Roberta Bell. She leaves her son and daughter in-law Richard and Kathleen (Roy) McIntosh of Glastonbury and several nieces and nephews. Ruth considered Kathleen to be her "daughter" and considered Emily and Joe her grandchildren as she embraced the entire Roy Family of Willimantic as her own. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and warm smile. She will be missed by all that knew her. Memorial services were private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to the Alzheimer's Association or St Joseph's Church, Willimantic.
