Ruth May Smith

Ruth M. Smith, 87, of Mansfield, widow of Joseph B. Smith, passed into eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday October 16, 2003 in Windham. She was born October 17, 1915 in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of William and May (Bryant) Doxey and had lived in Mansfield since 1957. She was a member of the Columbia Baptist Fellowship and was employed for many years at the Willimantic Trust Company. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Arline Smith of Bolton, 3 grandsons and their wives, Stephen and Tammy Smith of Bellingham, MA, Jason and Tricia Smith of Chesapeake, VA, Brian and Virginia Smith of Lehigh Acres, FL, a sister, Claire Burgess of Huntington, L.I. NY and a brother, William Doxey of Dover, DE. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Baptist Fellowship, 195 Rte. 6, Columbia.
