Ruth Hewitt Manning Cooke Dillon, 87, of Lebanon, CT, Loving Mother, Grandmother "Nana" and friend, passed away Friday, January 30, 2015 at St. Joseph Living Center. Ruth, one of 3 children, was born November 25, 1927 at St. Joseph Hospital, in Windham, CT to John and Dorothy Manning. She worked for many years at Cranstons Bookstore; enjoyed spending time with her family, perennial flower gardening, baking, history, antiques, and loved spending time at Matunuck Beach, RI. Ruth was also a member of the First Congregational Church of Lebanon. Ruth was predeceased by her parents, brothers Gaylord and Arthur Manning; James Cooke and Edward Dillon. She is survived by her son Garry Cooke and his wife Edmonia of Port Haywood, VA; son John Cooke of Salem, CT; daughter Melody Lehoux and her husband Normand of N. Windham, CT. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Crystal Lyons of CA; Garreth Cooke of OK; Ian Cooke of CT; Shawn Lehoux of FL; and Brynna Cooke, USCGA, of N. London, CT; along with 3 great grandsons of CA, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and Ruth's special friend Daniel Petrizzi. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 2:00PM, at The First Congregational Church of Lebanon, 913 Trumbull Highway (Rte. 207), Lebanon, CT 06249.
