Ruth C. Brown

Ruth C. Brown, 96, of Mansfield, died Friday Nov. 2, 2001 at the Roncalli Health Center, Willimantic. She was born March 2, 1905 in Mansfield the daughter of Stephen P. and Alice E. (Mason) Brown. She had been employed as a typist at the Travelers Ins. Co. Ruth was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, the Storrs Women s Club, the Garden Gate Club, and the Echo Grange. She was predeceased by 4 sisters and 3 brothers; Marjorie Brown, Dorothy Brown, Fannie Potter, Evelyn Booker, George Brown, Harry Brown and Charles Brown. She is survived by a brother and sister in law Robert and Clara Brown of Tasmania and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, corner of Rte 195 and Spring Hill Rd., with the Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 to 2:00pm prior to the service.
