Ruth E. Bailey

Ruth E. Bailey, 79, of Atwoodville Rd. Mansfield, wife of Raymond C. Bailey, died Sunday May 19, 2002 at the Douglas Manor, Windham. She was born Nov. 30, 1922 in Crumpler, W. VA. the daughter of Albert Lee and Myrtle (Thomanson) Lawless. She had been employed by the Mansfield school system as a teacher?s aide and a cook's assistant, prior to her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Mansfield. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and daughter in law Dennis and Sandy Bailey of Mansfield, a brother, 5 sisters, 2 granddaughters; Karen Bailey o Mansfield Center and Beth Bailey of Willimantic, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 3 sons Robert, Carson and Raymond. Her family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Tuesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 11:00am at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Mansfield Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial donations to the First Baptist Church of Mansfield, 945 Storrs Rd., Storrs, Ct. 06268.
