Russell J. Wilson, 97, of Jerusalem Rd., Windham, husband of the late Gertrude P. (Sasser) Wilson, died Wednesday morning Sept. 28, 2005 at Douglas Manor, Windham. He was born May 20, 1908 in Windham the son of Chauncey and Florence (Colburn) Wilson. For many years, Mr. Wilson owned and operated a poultry farm on Jerusalem Rd. He continued residing on the farm in retirement enjoying his gardens and fishing. He was a charter member of the Windham Fish and Game Club. Mr. Wilson was also a member of the Windham Center Congregational Church and a 60 year member of Somerset-St. James Masonic Lodge #34. He is survived by 2 sons, James Wilson of Windham and John Wilson and his wife Elizabeth of Bucksport, ME.; a grandson John Wilson Jr. and his wife Paula of Windham and their 3 children Nicole, Danielle and Patricia; and a granddaughter Stacey Warren and her husband Clifford of Bangor, ME. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, a brother and a grandson Jeff Wilson. A graveside service will be held on Friday ay 10:00am in the Windham Center Cemetery, Rte. 203, Windham, with the Rev. James P. Beesley Jr. officiating. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to the Windham Center Congregational Church, Windham, CT. 06280.
