Russell L. Mara

Russell Lawrence Mara, 26, formerly of Lebanon, CT passed away Friday, February 20, 2015. Born May 15, 1988 in Willimantic, CT to parents Karla (Tucker) Grieco and Thomas Mara. Russell was a graduate of Lyman Memorial High School, he also attended the University of Hartford and Eastern CT State University where he made the Dean's list. Russell had a passion for music and was gifted at playing the bass and guitar. He always followed current events and politics and enjoyed a good debate, and in his spare time, he enjoyed reading, listening to or playing music, and the Dallas Cowboys. Russell is survived by his father Thomas Mara and step-mother Jennifer Beams; mother Karla (Tucker) Grieco and step-father Jeffrey Grieco; brother Ryan Mara and his wife Morgan; step-sister Julia Grieco; step-sister Michaela Hall; nephew Donovan Lawrence Mara; grandfather Harry Tucker and step-grandmother Arlene Thompson; great grandmother Doris Ingalls; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Russell was predeceased by his Meme Norma Tucker, grandfather and grandmother Timothy and Ruth Mara and Aunt Donna Marie Tucker. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195), Willimantic, CT from 5:00-7:00pm. Services will be held Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Living Proof Church, 38 Pompey Hollow Road, Ashford, at 10:00am. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
