Rulon Patrick Henderson

Rulon "Lonnie" Patrick Henderson, 30, of Willimantic, passed away Tuesday, October 14, 2014 at his home. Born August 19th 1984 in Hartford, he was the son of Rodney and Jean Henderson. Lonnie was a graduate of Windham High School Class of '02 and Springfield College Class of '08. A social worker, athlete, volunteer, lifeguard, son, brother, friend, and uncle, Lonnie dedicated his life and career to helping others. His deep passion for travel led him to make friends everywhere he went across the world. Lonnie's smile and laugh were infectious and were only matched by the size of his spirit. Anyone that ever knew Lonnie would say he was the smartest, kindest and most gifted human being that they ever had the pleasure of knowing. Lonnie is survived by his parents, Jean and Rodney Henderson, his sister Reva Henderson, niece Justice Henderson, partner Ellyn Lambeck, closest friends Patrick Gildea, Casey Mahoney, Kelly Jewell, Peter Schenck and countless others whose lives he made happier. Visiting hours will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, Oct. 20th at Potter's Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am at First Congregational Church, 199 Valley Street Willimantic, CT. A reception in celebration of Lonnie's life will be held at The Elks Lodge, 198 Pleasant Street, following burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions will be accepted for Justice Henderson's Scholarship Fund.
