Rudolph F. Makray Jr. of Ashford, passed away Monday June 30, 2014 after some health issues. He was surrounded by his family and peacefully died. Although Rudy lived most of his live in a wheelchair, he still got around. He would take his best friend "Tina" for a walk everyday visiting with friends along the way. He was able to travel with his parents from Alaska to the Panama Canal. He never gave up, he was always coming up with ideas. He loved his bluebirds and was very particular about where and how the bird houses were placed. He loved to fish in his and dad's bass boat. He loved crossbow hunting. He rigged up a special brace on his chair so he could hold steady. He will be sadly missed by his family and "Tina". He leaves his parents Rudolph Sr. and Caroline Makray, 3 sisters and husbands, Kathy Makray and Rob Swanek, Linda and Paul Plourde, Dona Pare and her late husband Richard and an aunt Eva Annati. He also leaves many nieces, grandnieces, nephews aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He is" free as a bird" and not in pain. His family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday July 5, 2014 between 1:30 and 3:00pm with a service beginning at 3:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic.
