Ruby Lee (Johnson) Mitchell

Ruby Lee (Johnson)Mitchell, 76, of Willimantic, wife of Marvin Mitchell, died peacefully on Monday December 18, 2017 at Hartford Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born February 22, 1941 in Hollandale, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Thomas and Susie (Stigler) Johnson. Ruby and her family relocated to Willimantic in 1972. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Willimantic, CT. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In addition to her husband Marvin, she is survived by five children, Mary (Robert) Spruell, Emma Mitchell, Marvin (Briana) Mitchell III, Georgia Mitchell and Doris Mitchell; sister, Emma?Stigler. Ruby was predeceased by a daughter, Clara Bell Williams, sister Bobbie Neal Vassar and two brothers James Stigler and Harris Stigler. Ruby will be greatly missed by all. Ruby?s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday December 22, 2017 at the First Congregational Church, 199 Valley St., Willimantic from 10:00am to 11:00am, with her funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Burial to follow at the New Willimantic Cemetery, Willimantic.
