Roy W. Dingler, 80, of Willimantic, husband of Gladys (Stygar) Dingler, died Saturday morning May 10, 2003 at the Windham Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1922 in White River Junction, VT. the son of Willard and Beatrice (MacDonald) Dingler . He was a World War 2 Army veteran and a member of the James J. Shea Post #19 American Legion, the Gold Star Post #1724 VFW, the AMVETS and DAV Chapter #10. Mr. Dingler had been employed at Eastern Ct. State University as the supervisor of maintenance and was a member of the CT. State Employees Assoc. Chapter #408. He was a communicant of St. Joseph Church were he was also Scout Master of Troop #31. He had also served as a District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts . An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club. Mr. Dingler was a former member of the Yankee-Yesteryear Antique Auto Club and held several of its? offices including president. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law, Roy and Debra Dingler of Willimantic and their 3 children; Jeffrey, Matthew and Adam. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham. Please omit flowers.
