Rose Abare, 83, of Lebanon, CT passed away April 4, 2016 after a long and courageous battle with several health issues.?Rose was born January 9, 1933 to the late Joseph and Concetta Lobosco. She grew up in Hartford, CT along with her siblings William Lobosco, Nicholas Lobosco and Frances Czelusniak, where she attended school before moving to Willimantic as a young woman. Rose worked in the retail flower business for many years and was an active member of the community. She volunteered her time to PTA and the Democratic Town Committee for several years. Rose often told the story of having her picture taken with Paul Newman during his visit to Willimantic to support a candidate of the committee that she was supporting as well.?Rose enjoyed shopping, bingo, and most of all spending time with her family. She looked forward to Christmas and weekly visits with both her grandchildren and great grandchild. She will be remembered by many, including her wonderful nurses and aides at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, for her perseverance and strength. She is survived by her husband, Roger, and daughters, Connie Abare and her significant?other Arthur Burdick,?JoAnn Lohbusch and her husband Bucky; grandchildren, Chris, John and Sarah Lamb, Shane LaHaie and his wife, Danielle, and Joshua LaHaie and his wife Marissa; two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Annalise LaHaie. There are no calling hours.?A graveside service will be held at 11:00AM?on Friday, April 15, 2016 at St. Joseph?s Cemetery, Willimantic.
