Ronald R. LaBrecque, 68 of Columbia, CT, passed away Nov 3, 2013 at St. Joseph Living Center in Windham, CT. Born in Hartford, CT he grew up in West Hartford and graduated from Hall High School in 1964. He married the love of his life Susan in 1973 and they raised a loving family and generated many friendships and memories. Ron was employed by Electric Boat as a Sheet Metal Supervisor for 34 years retiring in 2010 and spent the majority of his retirement camping, fishing, sitting by a bonfire with his son, attending UCONN Basketball games with his daughter, and spending time with those he cherished most, his family and friends. His greatest joy was being the best Pepere to Dylan and Kaleb LaBrecque and Gwendolyn and Audrey Tew. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Susan (Crim) LaBrecque, his son Jon-Paul LaBrecque and wife Bridgett of Canterbury, his daughter Jennifer (LaBrecque) Tew and husband Matthew of Columbia, mother and matriarch of the family Alma LaBrecque of Bloomfield, his three sisters and brothers in law Diane and Stanley Krzanowski of Canton, Raymonde and Edward Daigle of East Granby , and Judi LaBrecque of Bloomfield; and brother and sister in law Steve and Mary Crim of Long Island. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and a great-nephew. The family would especially like to thank the Windham Hospital CCU Unit and the ER staff for the excellent care and would also like to thank St Joseph Living Center, its nursing staff, and Dr. Leach for their kind and compassionate care. His family will receive relatives and friends on Friday Nov. 8, 2013 between 4:00 and 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00am with Fr. Michael Smith officiating. Cremation will follow.
