Roland Clifford Tremblay, 96, a lifelong resident of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2015. He was very proud of his military service with the Army Air Corps during World War II having served in Guam with the 305th Air Engineering Squadron. Roland worked hard for his family. He worked at American Thread Company, American Screw Company and University of Connecticut were he retired as a carpenter. Roland also did painting and carpentry work on homes and businesses in Willimantic and surrounding areas. He was predeceased by his wife of over 60 years, Mary Laura Tremblay with whom he raised two sons. Roland is survived by his sons Clifford Tremblay and Dennis Tremblay; sister Doris Kelly and several nieces and nephews. There will be no callings hours. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for both he and his wife Mary Laura on Friday May 8, 2015 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church on Jackson St. Willimantic. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Club Rd. Windham.
