Roland Arthur Poudrier, 87, of Chaplin, formerly of Eastford, died peacefully at his home. He was the son of Arthur and Robea Poudrier. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucille (Gamache) Poudrier and two sisters, Rachel Bertora and Yvette Poudrier. Roland served in the U. S. Army during World War II and was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, San Jose Council #14. Roland was employed for 18 years at the former American Thread Co. in Willimantic and retired from Pratt & Whitney in East Hartford after 35 years of employment there. He is survived by five children, Richard Poudrier and his wife Barbara of Oregon, Jane Poudrier of Willimantic, Mitch Poudrier of Wauregan, Phillip Poudrier and his wife AnnMarie of Chaplin and Yvonne Poudrier of Willimantic, his grandkids, Joe, Jenn, Matt, Chris, Vincent, Nanci-Ruth, Cashay, Ben and Melissa, his great grandkids, Brianna, Anna, Justin, Tye, D.J. and Bailey,, a godchild, Lisa Molochnick, a sister, Doris Parent and her husband Norman, a brother Leo Poudrier and his wife Leonie, and a brother-in-law Henry Bertora. He also leaves his four legged grandkid, Wednesday, the dog. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. there will be a gathering at the funeral home on Monday at 9:15 a.m. prior to the procession to his Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Willimantic. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford.
