Roland L. Cloutier

Roland L. Cloutier, 74, of Ashford, CT passed away peacefully at Backus Hospital Friday, March 3, 2017 with his family by his side.?Roland was born in Danielson, CT September 16, 1942 to the late Lucien and Lucie Cloutier. Roland is survived by his wife Lorraine, daughter and son-in-law Gail and Darrel Lovley, and son Steven Hemingway, brother Marc and his wife Tina Cloutier, goddaughter and niece Alexina Carey and her husband Tim, nephew Jean Marc Cloutier and fianc?e Jennifer Rettig, niece Amy Reaves, nephew Michael Reaves and grandnephews Sam, Dan and Henry, sister-in-law Carol Kuhn and her husband Bill, brothers-in-law Richard and Gerald Golab, sister-in-law Sandra Golab and daughter Jessica, along with many cousins, relatives in Canada, and many friends. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Church in Ashford, CT, a member of the prayer groups, and an active volunteer prior to the onset of Lou Gehrig?s disease. An avid sports fan, Roland held season tickets to UConn?s men?s and women?s basketball, men?s and women?s soccer, football, and attended many other sporting events at UConn as well as Eastern CT State University and area high schools. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m. at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, CT. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial will follow at St. Philip the Apostle Cemetery.
