Roger G. Lizee, 78, of Willimantic, husband of Bernice (Wallen) Lizee, died Friday morning Sept. 8, 2006 at Windham Hospital. He was born Feb. 18, 1928 in Griswold, the son of Armand and Bebiane (Despres) Lizee. Roger was a World War II Navy veteran and had been employed by CL&P for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He had served the Town of Windham as a selectman for two terms and was a member of the Elks Lodge #1311, the Franco American Civic and Social Club, Gold Star Post 1724 VFW and Post #19 American Legion. Roger enjoyed woodworking and antique vehicles. He also enjoyed many vacations in North Haven, Maine. Roger was a kind loving man who called everyone his friend. He will be dearly missed. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law, Michael and Michele Lizee of Enfield, 4 daughters and sons in law, Jackie and Rick Barton of Ridgely, MD., Diane and Tracy Berry of Corpus Christie, TX., Debby and Roger Blanchette of Chaplin and Susan and David LaPalme of Eastford; 5 brothers, Richard, Donald, Raymond, Rene and Normand; 2 sisters, Rejeanne Chanski and Doris Loadwick; 9 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Gerald. His family will receive friends at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Sunday between 2:00 and 5:00pm. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 11:00am at St. Mary Church, Valley St., Willimantic, with assembly at the church. Interment with military honors will follow in New Willimantic Cemetery.
