Roger V. Desjardins, 91, of North Windham, husband of the late Anna (Donoghue) Desjardins, died Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Windham Hospital. He was born May 14, 1919 in Woonsocket, RI, the son of Joseph and Ernestine Desjardins and had lived in Windham for many years. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Prior to his retirement he was employed for many years as a chef at the University of Connecticut and retired from Windham Regional Technical School. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Perkins and her husband Nathan of Windham, four grandchildren, Duane Steinburg of South Windham, Nicole Dore and her husband Ernest Dore Jr. of Storrs, Glendon Steinburg of Windham and Linda Stanley of Middletown, three wonderful great granddaughters, Lindsey Dore and Miranda and Lauren Steinburg. He was predeceased by three sisters and a brother. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Friday January 7th from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
