Rodney Lafontaine 58, of Chaplin, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 21, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. He was born May 31,1959 in Willimantic, the son of the late Louis and Alice (Devillez) Lafontaine. Rodney graduated from Windham Tech in 1977 and was an electrician with Ray?s Electric for most of his career. Rod was an avid bowler with two perfect 300 games and an 800 series in his record. He also loved watching the UCONN Woman's basketball team. Rodney took great pride in continuing the weekly family gatherings. He was a great cook and made lots of family favorites. Rod is survived by a brother Randy (Cynthia) Lafontaine, niece Dorsey (Matthew) Egan, Bethany Lafontaine; nephews Douglas (Nicole) Lafontaine, Dennis (Tiffany) Lafontaine, Justin (Kimberly) Lafontaine, Nathan (Lauren) Lafontaine and Matthew Lafontaine. His littlest family members Ella, Erika, Jack and Owen. His sister in law, Inga Lafontaine was his devoted caregiver throughout his illness. Rodney was predeceased by his two brothers Richard and Ronald Lafontaine. There are no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday January 20, 2018 at 10:00am at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 41 Cedar Swamp Rd., Hampton, CT.
