Robert R. Sampson

Robert R. Sampson, 76, of Ashford CT, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday November 7, 2014. Born May 4, 1938 in Holyoke MA to parents Romeo T. and Mary Quill Sampson. He served in the Navy for 4 years and graduated from CCSU with a BS & MS. He was a teacher at Mansfield Middle School for over 26 years. He was a member of the Elks Club, VFW and the Hobokan Yacht Club. He leaves behind the love of his life, Catherine Walsh Sampson, his daughters Mary Sampson and partner Douglas Bull, Catherine Marshall and Teresa Foley; his grandchildren Jessica, Ashley and Jonathan Harris, Ryan and Alex Karish, Josephine, William and Gillian Foley and numerous Quill cousins. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends on Monday November 10, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His funeral mass will be held at St Thomas Aquinas Church, North Eagleville Rd. Storrs, Tuesday November 11, 2014 at 10:00am, with burial to follow at Storrs Cemetery.
