Robert A. Quinn, Jr., 70, passed away peacefully, after a long, brave battle with Alzheimer’s in Fort Myers, Florida on February 26, 2026. Rob was the son of the late Robert A. Quinn and Louise McCluskey.
Rob lived a life filled with passion, dedication, and generosity. Rob was the proud owner of Collins Garage for over thirty years. His expertise and commitment to his craft left a lasting impression on those he served and worked a long side.
Beyond his professional life, Rob had a deep love for motorcycles, classic cars and antiques which reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship and timeless beauty. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his interests. He also enjoyed traveling, embracing the opportunity to explore new places and create cherished memories. Rob valued his family and friends above all else. Known for his kind and unique spirit, he touched many lives with knowledge and generosity. His warmth and willingness to share his wisdom made him a beloved figure among those who knew him.
Rob is survived by his beloved wife, Marie S. (Mellady) Quinn; his son Ryan and wife Mari of East Hartford, CT; his daughter Heidi Quinn and wife Andrea of Wolcott, CT; his sisters Diane Gilbert of Cumming, GA and Debbie Dubina and husband Alan of Baltic, CT; his brother Michael Quinn of Columbia, CT; as well as several cherished nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Robert A. Quinn and Louise McCluskey; his son Casey Yates.
Rob’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his legacy bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 7, 2026, at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT, with burial to follow at St Joseph Cemeter, Windham. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend and share in prayer and remembrance. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to The Covenant Soup Kitchen, 220 Valley Street, Willimantic, Connecticut, email: convenantsoupkitchen.org, in Robert Quinn’s memory.
