Robert Joseph Mullen, 71, of Brooklyn died Tuesday April 23, 2012 at Windham Hospital. He was born on November 11, 1940 to Leo and Anne Marie (Mayette) Mullen. He is survived by his wife, Deborah (Moulin) Mullen, four sons Robert Mullen II of Coventry, CT, his wife Nancy and their children Juliana & Christopher, Michael Mullen of Mesa, AZ, his wife Valerie and their children Reilly, Alexa & Lily, John Mullen of Willimantic, CT, Jesse Coombs of Canterbury, CT and his wife Anna, a daughter Aimee Moulin-Sehl of Lebanon, CT, her husband Jeremy and their son Owen, a brother John "Jackie" Mullen of FL and his sister Judy Morin of VA also several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Leo & Anne Marie Mullen. Bob attended Mount Saint Charles Academy in Woonsocket, RI. In 1956-1957 he was an Ace Pitcher for the Varsity team and a star Quarterback. He won The Fairmount Post American Legion Most Valuable Player Trophy, two consecutive years. In 1961, he obtained an Associate's degree in general education at Dean's Junior College in Franklin, MA. In 1964 he received a B.S from The University of Bridgeport. He worked at Windham Tech as a Physical Education Teacher and then transferred to Mansfield Training School where he was a supervisor of the Adult Education Program, retiring after serving 33 years. Bob was an avid fisherman and hunter. He had many accomplishments but most importantly he enjoyed his family. He loved socializing with his many friends at the Fin Fur and Feather club where he was a lifetime member. He was always quick to lend a hand or tell a joke. He will be sadly missed by many. His family will be holding a gathering of remembrance on Saturday, May 5th, at his home in Brooklyn from 11 am - 7pm. All friends who would like to gather with his family are welcomed.
