Robert (Bob) K. Millholen, 62, of Willimantic and beloved husband of Sandy (Henrickson) Millholen of 31 years passed away on December 14, 2010. He died peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Born in Bethesda, Maryland on April 20, 1948, he was the son of Helen (Riley) Millholen and Keith R. Millholen (both deceased). He spent his childhood growing up in Waterford and attended Waterford High School for his freshman year. He continued his high school education graduating from the Loomis School. Following graduation he began his studies at Tufts and transferred to Franconia College in New Hampshire where he received a degree in Old and Middle English Language and Literature. His love of books and learning continued throughout his life. He moved to Montana and then Washington State for several years where he worked for the U.S. Forest Service and Arrowac Fisheries. While in Bellingham, Washington he was very active in Community Theater where he acted in a variety of plays to great reviews. Returning to Connecticut he worked for the State of Connecticut/Department of Social Services retiring in March 2008. He is survived by his wife Sandy, son Paul and his wife Jessica, sister-in-law Joan Hogan and her friend Michael Harder, niece Jennifer Hogan and her husband Harry Padroff and their children Adam and Noah and his long time friend Dave Lindeblad. He is predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Hogan. Bob was a loving husband, devoted father, caring uncle, and good friend. His quick wit and humor was present till the end. A memorial service will be held at the First Congregational Church, 199 Valley Street in Willimantic on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. There are no calling hours. The family would like to thank Drs. Walter McPhee and Mark Dailey for their compassionate care. Bob donated too many charities and would like to encourage you to donate to a charity you are passionate about or to The First Congregational Church of Willimantic where he was a choir member for many years.
