Robert "Mike" Miller, Sr., 64, of Willimantic, beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away suddenly, June 22, 2013. He served in the US Air force during the Vietnam Era. He then was employed as a truck driver by the DOT for the State of Conn. for 25 years before he retired in 1999. During that time, he also served as a union steward for the SEIU. His most important job and dedication was to his family. For fifty years, he selflessly gave himself and his love to his wife. He was devoted to his son, including coaching his football and baseball teams. They also shared a love for NASCAR and motorcycles. He was a full-time grandfather to his adored grandchildren, being involved with sports, school, doctors and anything else that came along. Until his last day, his pride and joys were his two precious great-grandchildren, Junior and Emmett (Bug and Em&em). He was predeceased by his loving mother, Alice A. Miller and father, George H. Miller and his beautiful sister Carol Langworthy. He is survived by his devoted wife, Susan Miller of Willimantic, son Robert "Mike" Miller, Jr. and his wife Becky Quealy-Miller of N. Franklin, three grandchildren: Brittany, Mikey, and Shannon and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his very caring sister, Gloria Thompson of N. Franklin and two special sisters-in law, Kathy Hinkel and Fran Burba. He also leaves one aunt, several nieces, nephews and cousins. All family and friends that he leaves behind were loved dearly and have a special place in his heart. His family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Willimantic from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM with funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM.
