Robert Meek

Robert Meek, 86, of North Windham, CT died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Vanderman Place. He was the son of the late Henry and Augusta (May) Boulet. Bob enjoyed going to auto races in his RV with his wife Dorothy. He was a deacon at the First Congregational Church in Willimantic. Bob was an avid New York Giants fan and enjoyed a good cigar and an Irish mist. He was a constable in Manchester and he owned his own trucking business "Meek Express" and was a retired Teamster # 559. Bob was a member of the Knights of Pythias and was in the United States Army from 1948 to 1950. Bob always enjoyed a good game of solitaire, but most importantly he was a caring husband and father and will be missed by all. Besides his wife, Dorothy (Gerich) Meek, he is survived by three sons, Robert and his wife Yvonne; David and his wife Nancy; Douglas and his wife Patricia; a daughter Joanne Sweeney and her husband Michael; two brothers Norman and Ray and two sisters Mildred "Sis" and June; 10 grandchildren and five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter Kathleen, four brothers Phil, Bill, Al and Henry and two sisters Carrie and Esther. There are no calling hours. His memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the First Congregational Church in Willimantic, 199 Valley St. Willimantic at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hole in the Wall Gang, 555 Long Wharf Dr. New Haven, CT 06511 or the First Congregational Church in Willimantic 199 Valley St. Willimantic, CT 06226.
