Robert Albert Legere

Robert Albert Legere, 81, of Willimantic, passed away peacefully on Saturday March 24, 2012 at Regency Heights in Willimantic. He was born in Willimantic on May 16, 1930, the son of the late Norbert and Yvonne (Beaudette) Legere. Robert was a U.S. Army veteran serving with the 101st Airborne Division 1951-1953. He was a communicant of St. Joseph church and had been employed as a meat cutter for most of his life with Labranche's Market in Willimantic and Chaplin. He was predeceased by his wife Doris (Bernard) Legere in 2003. Robert is survived by two daughters, Carol Ives and Linda Legere both of Willimantic; two sons, Richard and his wife Donna of Franklin and Roland and his wife Kathy of N. Windham; a sister Doris Smith and her husband Milo of Willimantic, five granddaughters, Carolyn Calderon, Stacey Ryan and Jessica,Sarah and Megan Legere; grandson George Ives Jr., and five great grandchildren. His family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday March 27th between 6:00 and 8:00pm at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic. His Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00am at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with assembly in the church parking area at 9:45am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, his family suggests memorial donations to St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic, CT. 06226.
