Robert G. Hoffmann, 74, of Windham, passed away on October 26, 2015 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Cortland, NY, the son of the late Edmund Hoffmann and Roberta (Molusky) Bobst. He was also predeceased by his stepmother Lynn (Nygren) Hoffmann. Robert is survived by his wife of 50 years Nancy (Stuart) Hoffmann, four children Jessamy, Matthew, Kevin and Kenneth Robert; three grandchildren Sarah, Ava and Jack Robert; a stepfather, Dale Bobst, and two brothers, E. Michael and Thomas. Bob attended Cornell University and the Universidad de Madrid before graduating from the University of Georgia. He spent his career in agribusiness, managing feed mills, and served as the president of the New England Feed and Grain Council from 1988 to 1990. He was the owner of an award-winning herd of Brown Swiss cows under the prefix Bittersweet Farm. Bob was known for his quirky sense of humor, his many sayings and malapropisms, and his love for the Patriots, Eagle Premier sedans, and his family. He was a collector of Heisey glass and a patron of the art of Nancy Olivia Designs. He was also a loyal frequenter of the Columbia Library where he read only books with happy endings.
