Robert J. Burnore, 70, of Southridge Dr., Willimantic, husband of Mary "Betty" (Facto) Burnore, died Wednesday Oct. 2, 2002 at the Windham Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1931 in Willimantic the son of the late John and Dorothy (Marcoux) Burnore. He was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran and a member of the American Legion and the VFW. For many years Mr. Burnore was employed at Hurley's in Willimantic and more recently at the Windham Hospital. For 2 terms he served the 4th ward in Willimantic as it's alderman. He was also active in the Boy Scouts and was a former member of the Willimantic Elks. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter in law Shawn and Michelle Burnore of Tolland, a daughter and son in law Veronica and Karl Landeck of Lebanon, PA., a brother William of N.J. 6 sisters; Ruth Pearl of Chaplin, Rita Diffy, Lorraine Chapel of Hampton, Kathy Ives of Jewett City, Cleo Pearl of Chaplin and Joan Burnore of Scotland, 4 grandchildren; Nicholas Burnore , Melisse Fairbanks, Karl M. Landeck and Heather Landeck and 3 great grandchildren.His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00pm. There will be a gathering at the funeral home on Saturday at 8:15am prior to the procession to his 9:00am Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St.Willimantic. Burial will follow in the Windham Center Cemetery, Windham. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
