Rita C. Patry, died peacefully on January 29, 2014 at the age of 95. She was born in East Angus, Province of Quebec, Canada on January 12, 1919, daughter of Albert and Albina Blanchard. She traveled to Jewett City at the age of five, along with her family. As a young women, she worked in the Aspinook Mills in Jewett City. On November, 14, 1942 she was united in marriage to Roland C. Patry and lived happily for 49 years until his death in 1992. Rita was a homemaker, a gardener and knitter and enjoyed the sunshine, being outdoors and sitting in her chair by the window. She lived for many years on Jordan Road in South Windham. She leaves behind her son, Dr. Roland A. Patry and his wife Janice of Dallas, TX, and her daughter, Susan P. Duhaime and her husband Arthur of Lebanon, CT, granddaughter Jessica Reinckens and husband Tom of Darien, CT, grandson Joshua Duhaime and wife Abigail of Lebanon, CT and granddaughter Sharon Patry of Little Elm, TX. Additional blessings include her three great grandchildren, Naomi, Tilden and Sadie. She leaves behind many friends at the Saybrook at Haddam where she has lived for the last four years. Her family is very thankful for their compassion and care as well as the Hospice at Middlesex Hospital. Besides her husband, Rita was predeceased by her grandson Michael Patry, all her siblings, Rachel Sylvester and husband Rene, Clement Damour and husband Roland, Marcel Blanchard and wife Teresa and Pricilla Blanchard. Her family will receive relative and friends on Friday January 31, 2014 between 12:00 and 1:00pm at the Potter Funeral Home 456 Jackson St. (Rte. 195) Willimantic, prior to her 1:30pm Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St. Willimantic with Rev. Roger Lamoureux officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Windham.
