Richard W. Drum, 61, of Scotland, husband of Barbara (Chamberlin) Drum, died Thursday, February 5, 2009 at the Windham Hospital. He was born February 12, 1947 in Hartford, son of the late Nelson and Ruth (Garthwait) Drum and had lived in Scotland for the past 38 years. Prior to his retirement he was employed at the Windham Regional Technical School for 25 years. He enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. Richard will be missed by his dog "Jerry" as well as all who knew him, for Richard was a generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by two children, Lisa Paradis and her friend Scott Parent of Hampton, his son, Roy Drum and his fiancAC.e, Nicole Twerdy of Scotland, a granddaughter, Harley "Brat" Paradis, three brothers, John Drum and his wife Dawn of Lebanon, Francis Drum and his wife Sue of Colchester, Ronald Drum and his wife Barbara of Lebanon, a sister-in-law, Donna Schatz of Windham, a brother-in-law, Bruce Chamberlin of Columbia, two awesome nephews, Kevin and Douglas Schatz as well as many other nieces and nephews. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic Friday, February 6th, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial following in Windham Center Cemetery.
