Richard W. Redfield, 89, of Scotland, died Monday October 4, 2004 at the Windham Hospital. He was born July 18, 1915 in Closter, NJ, the son of Herbert and Mary (Taylor) Redfield and had lived in Scotland since 1976. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and active in several horticultural organizations. He is survived by 2 nieces, Mary E. Alvord of Scotland and Helen M. Hershkowitz of New Jersey, a nephew, John H. Guzzetti of Idaho, several grandnieces and grandnephews including William L. Kitfield, Richard J. Kitfield, James M. Kitfield and Mary Ann MacKinnon. He was predeceased by a grandnephew Timothy R. Kitfield. His family will receive friends at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St., Rte. 195, Willimantic on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Fichter officiating. Burial will follow in the Scotland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Garden Conservatory, P.O.
