Richard J. Pintal, Sr.

May 18, 1947 — September 7, 2025

Ledyard

Richard “Dickie/Pop’s” J. Pintal Sr., age 78 of Ledyard, passed away unexpectedly on September 7, 2025. May he be at peace racing around the track in the sky.

He was born in Willimantic on May 18, 1947, to the late Andrew and Helen (Jursa) Pintal. He graduated from Windham Technical School. Early in his life he worked as a mechanic at Francs garage in Willington for many years, this is probably where he got his love of cars and racing. For many years he was a member of the South Windham volunteer fire department where he was accredited for rescuing a woman from a burning structure.

Dickie retired from Coca Cola Beverages Northeast in East Hartford with 45 years of service. He ended his career as a shipping clerk after he had his bypass surgery, so he could be stress free. During his many years as a supervisor he had numerous people work under him, and was so loved at Coca-Cola.

Rich loved riding his bike and racing and would see as many races as he could, even camping out at the racetrack.

For several years he was a member of the Fin, Fur and Feather Club, Inc. and the Elks Lodge 1311 of Willimantic, CT. as a dedicated member he moved up through the chairs.

Dickie leaves his companion Cissy Kennedy, his children Carol Misak, her husband Jerry of Hampton, Rich Pintal, Jr and his finance Tina Wong of Norwich, Christopher Pintal of Mansfield, Kyle Pintal of Norwich, and sister Alice Mott of Windham.

Dickie leaves his grandchildren, Tyler Misak and wife Courtney, Sierra O’Neill and husband John, Kassaundra “Kassie” Pintal and finance Ricky Wilson, Christian, Devin, Kamden, and Sophia. Great grandchildren, Maddilyn Mae, Carter, Neriah, Aaliyah, Landon, Grayson, Everly, Savannah, and Arianna. And his loving pooch Coco

He was predeceased by his brother, Andrew Pintal, and his sisters, Mary Wonsik and Lorraine Goodwin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the South Windham Fire House, in recognition of his service and dedication.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, to be announced. We look forward to joining with friends and loved ones to honor and remember a life well lived.
