Richard Dempsey Obituary
Richard Dempsey, known affectionately as Rick to his friends and family, passed away suddenly on September 30, 2024, in Chaplin, Connecticut. Born on August 6, 1953, in Boston, Massachusetts, Rick's life was one marked by love, laughter, and an unwavering dedication to his family.

Rick's journey began as the cherished son of the late John Malcolm (Mal) and Catherine (Kitty) Dempsey. He grew up with his brothers John (Vicki), Steven (Christine); and was predeceased by his brother Bill (Debbie)

For 37 beautiful years, Rick shared his life with his wife, Robbin. Together, they raised three children: Nicole, Rick Jr., and Liane. Each of them inherited their father's intelligence, his sense of humor, and his loving heart.

Rick's role as a father was one, he cherished deeply, and he instilled in his children the values of kindness, perseverance, and the importance of family.  Rick's professional life was characterized by his strong work ethic. He was a man who took pride in everything he did.

A lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, Rick's passion for his teams was infectious. He could often be found cheering on his favorite teams with his family by his side.  His love for sports was matched only by his quick wit and his legendary repertoire of one-liners and dad jokes. Rick's humor was a gift that he shared generously, bringing smiles and laughter to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rick will be remembered as a loving husband, and devoted father to his children and his four-legged friend, Luna, who remained by his side as a loyal companion.
