Richard (Captain Dick) Coollick, 75, of South Windham, CT, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He leaves behind his loving wife of 54 years Lorraine (Lemire) Coollick; son Scott Coollick, daughter Lori Robbins and her husband Craig Robbins; grandchildren Joshua Warfield, Heather Coollick and Stephanie Robbins; his brother Robert Coollick and his wife Linda; Dick is also survived by his in-laws Ronald and Joyce, Richard and Katherine, and Alan Lemire; along with several nieces, nephews and friends. Richard was a proud member of the community serving 27 years on the Willimantic Police Department, retiring as Captain. He served as a member of the Willimantic Elks Lodge 1311, South and North Windham Fire Departments and served in the United States Navy. Throughout his 27 years of service he accomplished numerous achievements for the betterment of his community. Calling hours will be Sunday, December 21, 2014 at Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. (Route 195) Willimantic, CT from 4:00PM-6:00PM. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church, 99 Jackson St., Willimantic, CT on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery on Club House Road in Windham. A celebration of life will follow at the Franco American Civic and Social Club. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Willimantic Policeman's Benevolent Association.
