Richard Chandler Sr. "Dick", of Coventry, born October 5, 1948 to the late Ellery and Geraldine Chandler departed this world on September 29, 2011. He leaves in his passing his beloved wife of 44 years, Elaine Chandler. Also he leaves his daughter Heidi and Husband Rick Cramer of Coventry and his son Richard Chandler Jr. of Coventry, four beloved grandchildren who knew him as "Pop, All my heart"- Airman 1st Class Christopher Cramer of McChord A.F.B. Seattle Washington, Jocelyn, Victoria and Hannah Cramer of Coventry. He was well known for his favorite pastime as being a Fireman for Mansfield (Eagleville) Fire Department as a volunteer and paid firefighter for 35 years. His other two favorite pastimes were his love of golf and auto racing. He was a member of the Skungamaug Golf Club and he raced his #29 car at several local racetracks. Calling hours will be 6-8pm on Monday 0ct. 3rd at the Potter Funeral Home, 456 Jackson St. Willimantic. His funeral will be held at the Potter Funeral Home at 11am on Tuesday Oct.4th with burial to follow at The New Coventry Cemetery on Main St. Coventry.
